Relocations

You’re moving, what a headache, so many things to think about and do. Have you remembered the phones? You can’t do without them at the new premises.

But what do you need to do?

If you’re a Telecom or Digital Island customer we can do it ALL for you. We can arrange & liase with Telecom or Digital Island to move your lines and broadband, we can move your phone system & associated equipment, and, if needed, cable the new premises. Even if you’re not with Telecom or Digital Island we can advise you on what to request regarding your lines from your telecommunications service provider.

To carry out your move with minimum hassle & interruption, read more for some questions to start the process.

Questions to make your move easier:

  1. Are you taking your existing phone system or do you require a new system?
  2. How many outside lines do you have and do you have broadband and a separate fax line, you can get this info from your phone bill. If you are a Telecom or Digital Island customer we just need your main phone number & account number and we can find out that info ourselves.
  3. Do you require more, less or the same number of lines at the new site? If we haven’t been to your site for a while, or you are a new customer, to make sure you have enough capacity for new lines we may need to do a quick free visit to check your PABX capacity.
  4. At the new site is there phone, and if required data, cabling everywhere you require a person to be sitting? If the new site is multi-floored or sub-tenanted is there a connection from the outside connection point (Telecom Demarcation point) to your floor or area? If you’re not sure see if you can arrange for us to get into the new site at least a week before the move and we will check it out for you and can quote for cabling if needed.
  5. Do you require more, less or the same number of phones on desks (extns) as you have at the current site? If you require more we may need to look at your phone system if we haven’t been to your site for a while, or you are a new customer. But this can all be done with that free site visit mentioned earlier.
  6. What date do you want to move and can the move be done during work hours or is it required after hours? It may take from 5 working days to 3 weeks for your telecommunications service provider (eg. Telecom, TelstraClear, Vodafone) to move your lines or install new lines to the new premises, so this needs to be considered/accounted for when moving.
  7. Do you need any new features at your new site such as voicemail, a front end message asking callers to dial departments or maybe a call accounting system so you can track those calls?
